Reid preserves 45-40 Tulsa win

Photo By Brad Brugger The Tulsa Talons continued their bid for an undefeated season on Saturday night as ADT Defensive Player of the Game Delenell Reid intercepted a Travis Cole pass with 26 seconds remaining to seal a 45-40 win over the Rio Grande Valley Dorados. The victory moves Tulsa to 7-0 on the season.

The Talons got on the board first as QB Justin Allgood completed a 14 YD touchdown pass to Kellen Allen at the 11:53 mark in the first quarter. The teams traded touchdowns throughout the first with the Talons leading 14-13 due to a missed extra point by Dorados kicker Brian Hazelwood.

Tulsa shuts out Bossier's offense just in time to keep its 14-game win streak intact.

Just like clockwork, it seems, the Talons defense turned up the pressure late in the third quarter and paved the way to another comeback win when things looked dark Saturday night.

The Tulsa Talons scored 21 unanswered points to erase a nine-point, third-quarter deficit, and rallied for a 57-43 win over the Bossier-Shreveport Battle Wings to stay unbeaten in af2 play before 5,235 at the Convention Center.

Tulsa improved to 6-0 in 2008 and stretched its franchise-record winning streak to 14 over two seasons, tying for the fourth-longest in af2 history. The Talons also won their ninth straight against the Battle Wings and stretched their lead to 10-1 in a series that started in 2001.
